I’m a passionate gamer, who enjoys talking about all things game design. This blog will mostly focus on competitive games, both meatspace and virtual. I’ll blog about anything from balance to interface design, or whatever I’ve just had an interesting and/or infuriating forum argument on. I tweet at @ (yes, only one F.)
Q. Why do you have such a dumb name?
A. The name comes from the Guild Wars skill Cry Of Frustration. I thought it was a good name for a competitive gaming blog, firstly because the original Guild Wars was one of the finest online games of all time, and secondly because it reflects the amount of salt and rage that players of competitive games often exhibit.
Q. Why do you have such a dumb logo?
A. Whenever you managed to interrupt someone with CoF in Guild Wars, a speech bubble with those letters would appear over them. I thought it was funny and a nice touch. I didn’t rip off their in-game graphics though, I made it myself based on a speech bubble design by Olyn LeRoy from the Noun Project, used under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 3.0).
Q. So are you a Guild Wars blog?
A. No, though I used to write about Guild Wars 2 a bit. Haven’t really bothered with it much since ArenaNet moved the game out of esports though.
Q. You basically only write about Netrunner, but your name is a reference to an MMO which you’ve never written a single word about.
A. Branding was never my strong suite. Also, technically I talk a little about Guild Wars in my very first post. I never planned to only write about Netrunner, it’s just what I’ve been obsessed with for the past few years.
Currently playing: Guild Wars 2, Quake Champions early access, South Park Phone Destroyer, Total War: Arena closed beta, Android: Netrunner, and Star Wars: Destiny.
